I’m down here in Florida for the next 3 weeks covering Spring Training all the way through Opening Day Weekend. I’ve got a brand new piece of software (that I’ve basically spent the entirety of the past 6 months working on) that we will be testing in the upcoming games. So if you see a “Hot Zone” graphic appear in today’s Tigers/Phillies game (1 PM EST on ESPN) – you can point to this guy for making it happen!

I’m going to make a post every couple days with my thoughts on the teams I see, as well as a little info on the Spring Training field itself. (For a full review of Spring Training sites around Florida, check out Jim Dietrich’s reviews on Stadium Journey.

Yesterday was just setup here at Bright House Field, standard fare. Cole Hamels jogged around the field for a little bit before the sprinklers came on. It’s a nice field, but it’s very strange to see stores and restaurants so closeby. There’s a Buffalo Wild Wings directly outside the stadium (in the same parking lot, no less.)

Looking forward to a great day of baseball today. Especially looking forward to seeing Freddy Galvis, who is the prime candidate to take over for Chase Utley if his injury appears to be serious (he is going to see a specialist today.) Enjoy the day, FTL fans!
